I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I’ve had a FaceTime button on all my contacts. Once I updated to 17.4 I saw a message saying I needed to get a FaceTime app from the App Store. Corrections say to tap on FaceTime in settings which I don’t have. This is really annoying and I would love to know how to get my FaceTime back without having to get a separate app for it now. Thank you very much!

The exact same thing happened when I installed the latest update. First off, WTF is a FaceTime app? We never needed an app for it before. It is extremely annoying having to “fix” something that wasn’t broken.
The annoying part to me is not that I had to reinstall the app to restore access to FaceTime, but that I just spent literally about an hour searching different keywords to figure out what was happening and how to resolve the issue.
I just contacted Apple support. The rep claims I am the first person to call with this issue. She assured me that it would not increase my memory usage if I download it from the cloud. I went ahead and downloaded it and now when I click video, I’m given a choice of FaceTime or Instagram and FaceTime does show up as a separate app on my phone. Not the same as it was prior to the update.
This is the same thing that is happening to me. I have been trying to fix it for hours and nothing works. I’ve deleted th app reinstalled turned my phone on and off. Disconnected my number from FaceTime etc.. nothing is working :(

Me too. I changed my password and now have no text messages coming through. Can send but not receive. Any thoughts?
You have to have the FaceTime app now to make calls. If you deleted you will need to redownload it🤦🏻♀️
Same thing happened here. So if I download this app, how much memory usage is it going to add. Come on Apple.
I had to download the FaceTime app after the new update but others can’t contact me on FaceTime and it doesn’t show on my phone app
