How do I convert multiple .heic files to JPG on Windows 11?

I've recently found myself in a bit of a bind with a bunch of photos in HEIC format, which I took using my iPhone 14. Now, I need to use these photos on my Windows computer, but I'm running into issues because Windows doesn't seem to naturally support HEIC files, or at least not in a way that's convenient for me. I've read that HEIC offers better compression without sacrificing quality, which is great, but right now, I really need these photos in a more universally accessible format, specifically JPG. I'm looking for a straightforward method or tool that can help me convert HEIC files into JPGs on Windows 11 machine without losing much in terms of image quality. I'm not very tech-savvy, so a solution that's easy to follow would be ideal.

I am using Tunesbro HEIC Converter recommended by SravanKrA. The batch conversion is really helpful and time saving. You can follow the user guide from here:

There are several ways to convert HEIC files to JPG on Windows 11. Here are two methods to try:

Method 1: Use Windows Photos app

  1. Open Windows Photos app.
  2. Click on the HEIC photo you want to convert.
  3. Click on "Open" in the top-right corner.
  4. Click on "Save as" in the top-right corner.
  5. Select "JPEG".

Method 2: Use an online converter

There are several online converters that can convert HEIC files to JPG format. One example is heictojpg.com.

  1. Go to heictojpg.com.
  2. Click "Upload Files".
  3. Select the HEIC files you want to convert.
  4. Click "Convert".
  5. Wait for the conversion process to finish.
  6. Click "Download All" to download the JPG files.

Note: When converting HEIC to JPG on Windows 11, some loss in image quality is inevitable. However, using a program that doesn't compress the image too much is key in maintaining picture quality..

There are plenty of online HEIC to JPG converter tools out here. Just upload your HEIC files and convert them to JPG. It's super straightforward, but make sure you're okay with uploading your photos online.

Because they come with a few downsides:

  • Ads: These sites often have a bunch of ads, which can be super annoying and distracting.
  • Security Risks: Uploading your HEIC photos online can be risky, especially if they're personal. You never know how secure the site is or what might happen with your photos.

My suggestion:If you want to convert HEIC to JPG on Windows 11 in batches and safely, you can use TunesBro HEIC converter tool, which is safe, efficient, batch-safe, and maintains quality. You can Google it!

If you can accept command line tools, you can try ImageMagick, an open source software package for creating, editing, and converting HEIC files. It supports a variety of image formats such as HEIC, JPG, PNG, GIF, etc. The command line tools provided by ImageMagick allow users to perform complex image processing tasks directly from the command prompt or terminal.

For converting HEIC files to JPG on Windows 11 computers, ImageMagick can batch process multiple images while maintaining high image quality.

  1. Install ImageMagick from here, ensuring to include legacy utilities during installation.
  2. Open Command Prompt and navigate to the folder with your HEIC files:

cd C:\path\to\your\heic\files

3. Convert all HEIC files to JPG with the following command:

for %i in (*.heic) do magick convert "%i" "%~ni.jpg"

If you are not familiar with command line tools, I would not recommend you to try it!
