Brand new Macbook Pro M3 Pro Can't Find My Location

My new Macbook still thinks It's located in California even though I'm in PA. I have ALL of my location services turned on. I've tried toggling them on and off, restarting my computer. I've tried updating my computer, nothing seems to work. It doesn't even allow me to manually change my time zone when I turn off "set time zone automatically using your current location". I've tried all of the "solutions" that previous Apple.com forums have given, but nothing works. Not a great start for a product of this price....I hope someone can help me!

I have exactly the same issue. Bought a new Macbook Air M3 a few days ago. Find My can locate my Mac correctly, but Maps tells me I am in Phnom Penh, Cambodia! 😳 Time zone change does not work either; need to do manually. All location settings are active; all has been reset and started again for a couple of times; still Cambodia. That is quite a glitch - can you fix it asap, please! Thanks.

Your exact location is typically provided by your Router, over Wi-Fi. some of this information seems to be accumulated on the web, based of the Router's identifiers.

But exactly how it is derived can be really sketchy. It can partially depend on corroboration from connected devices like iPhones that DO know the actual location, and can be COMPLETELY flummoxed by using a VPN service or a Router tagged with a different country-code.

In my case, we did not have an accurate location for years. We used only flip phones in the house, and the reported location was unknown, so it typically defaulted to the Verizon FIOS (our ISP) headquarters about 50 miles away.

Then we had a garden party, and multiple guests brought their iPhones and stayed for a while. After that, each of multiple access points reported a very slightly different, but perfectly accurate, location.
