Moving Legacy Apps to New iPhone

I've just bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max to replace my ancient iPhone 7, and spent most of yesterday setting the new phone up.

Everything went pretty well - the bulk of my settings, apps and data seemed to transfer OK automatically just by leaving the old and new phones side by side, but ...

Two specific apps were unable to install on the new phone, because they have been dropped from the App Store. And frustratingly, they are two apps I use frequently.

So - simply, as I still have these apps on my iPhone 7, iPhone 4s and iPad Pro 2016 - is there anyway to copy them onto my new phone (and come to think of, my newer iPad Pro)?

Sorry no, no way to copy them.

If those apps aren't available on AppStore any longer, there might be many different reasons, most likely because:

  • Their developer/support teams decided not to update/maintain those apps working with the latest iOS/iPadOS versions (try contacting them, if they are still reachable, and ask them).
  • Those apps do not meet Apple requirements any longer.
