Pegasus folder in my MacBook

Yep, it is totally normal. It is an Apple Framework with most files installed on the Read Only partition of the drive where no one can add or change any of the files. The specific folder you mentioned is empty on my system. I think it is safe to say that Apple would not be installing Pegasus Spyware on your computer.

I agree with stedman1 that the name should not be causing confusion. The system as well as any other software link to Framworks on the system to operate. If the name was changed later, then the software used to link to it would no longer work. You can see that the question has been asked before here:

It also gives an example of a RAID system that has been sold for years called Pegasus that would rely on drivers to operate. If someone developed spyware called Canon, you would not expect a printer to continue to work without those Canon drivers installed on the system. You also would not expect Canon to change the name of their printer business because of it.

The word “Pegasus” was in use for hundreds of years prior to it being assigned to a nefarious piece of software. The mere mention of the word is not an issue.
