Pegasus folder in my MacBook

I found this folder "group.com.apple.PegasusConfiguration" in my mac book running Sonoma with latest update.

What is this?

Some one has posted that it is normal from iOS 9 in iOS..!

Can someone shed any light on this

OK, but I do not find any description by Apple on this.

Why should they name it like that..Pegasus.

It creates confusion.

I agree with stedman1 that the name should not be causing confusion. The system as well as any other software link to Framworks on the system to operate. If the name was changed later, then the software used to link to it would no longer work. You can see that the question has been asked before here:

Pegasus frameworks - legitimate? - Apple Community

It also gives an example of a RAID system that has been sold for years called Pegasus that would rely on drivers to operate. If someone developed spyware called Canon, you would not expect a printer to continue to work without those Canon drivers installed on the system. You also would not expect Canon to change the name of their printer business because of it.
