THIS continues to drive me absolutely crazy. Whenever I left click to just select something the mouse continues to either highlight text or act as a right click at times. I have to continually click the mouse several times to in effect, unlock it from doing this. I have tried all kinds of settings but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

Uninstall CleanMyMac per their directions , then run etrecheck again to see what chaff it left...

Thanks for the reply but I've done that. It's works and then it doesn't. I have to rapidly left click the mouse until it works correctly but it doesn't last. I've seen a lot of similar comments from those who have the same problem.
Okay, I deleted all of that but there were 3 extensions from Total Av that I could not delete.
Easiest would be a cheap USB Mouse to double check, but in a pinch...
System Settings>Mouse> change Primary Mouse button
Yes, happens at any time. I have CleanMyMac, and no VPN. I'll run that program shortly and send over the results
