Magnifier missing from screenshot options on iPhone

Sure, here it is:

1. Take a screenshot.
2. Tap Done (top left) and save it to Files.
3. Open the Files app, long-press the screenshot, tap Share and choose the Book app.
4. The Books app should open automatically and show the screenshot. If not, open the Books app and tap your screen shot.
5. Tap the screenshot to trigger the Edit mode, tap the drawing tools icon (top center, next to the "AA" icon).
6. Tap "+" (bottom right) and choose Magnifier.

Yes, the Magnifier option is gone since iOS 17. The only solution I know is to share the screenshot with the Books application. That app still has the magnifier option when you edit an image.

Which books app, please? I miss that feature, but Apple is hesitant to get that back.

Hi, could you tell me the steps? I am amused by the idea of an ebook reader being able to edit screenshots.

Good Lord! I had zero idea this actually existed. Wow! Thank you very much for this. I am sure 99% of the folks wouldn’t have an idea of how to access this anymore at all.

I left about a dozen feedbacks with the same thing. Apple seems to be turning a deaf ear towards this feedback.
