Uninstalled and installed many times and only get podcasts/ audiobook selection panels. I want to edit music and load it onto my iPod. Why is this happening? So angry and frustrated when, years ago, it was ONE iTunes and every step was simple. Now there's Apple Music wanting me to subscribe. Can't afford everyone's subscriptions.

Hi there also had this issue it seems that for some reason on this PC itunes does not bring up iphone or any music anymore get a message about it at the load screen which you may have ticked so are not being notified anymore see below:
With in mind kept searching and it seems you can now access your phone via apple devices app so am using this now to manage and back-up phone instead of itunes. Hope that helps someone else as well.
That's also my problem now. I used to have music from my PC to Iphone using Itunes which has Music option. Now when I tried to transfer music to Iphone, I couldn't find the music option. I just had Podcast and Audiobook.
I asked the assistance of Apple Support thru call. After some checking and uninstall, reinstall Itunes, Apple Music, Apple Devices, there was no change. They suggest to get Apple Music which is free for 3 months. I am now on this. It's nice but I wished is to load my computer music to the Iphone.
same, and cant even use file sharing option to transfer from/to iphone with a cable
press the View button on itunes and hover over Media Kind then click on music. Walaaaaaa
For anyone dealing with this, uninstall Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Devices, any of the 3 you have installed on your computer. Music will be accessible again in iTunes after doing so.
Yes, I uninstalled Apple TV and now the iPhone icon shows in iTunes.
I have the same issue - no music media. I can see podcasts and audiobooks but no music. If I uninstall and reinstall itunes, I can get to the music (briefly); but then clicking around causes it to go back to the same state of no music. I also can't get itunes to sync with my iPhone at this point - no icon appears when connected.
NO itunes music videos or photos cannot load ipod

I think you need to unsubscribe from Apple Music.
when i do that, i only get 2 options, podcasts, and audiobooks. there is no music section for that on my itunes
I believe those options are all you see when you are subscribed to Apple Music, even during the trial period.
Turn off, or unsubscribe from Apple Music. What happens then?
cant unsubscribe during trial period as it doesn't show as subscribed
