Recent photos out of order

I have an iPhone 15 pro max. Just recently, my recent photos are all out of wack. They are not in order of when I added nor are they in the order of recently taken. It just happened a day or two ago. Idk if there was an update (I have them done automatically). This is SO annoying!

I understand how frustrating it can be when your recent photos are out of order on your iPhone 15 Pro Max. This issue can indeed disrupt your photo management and browsing experience. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem:

  1. Restart Your iPhone: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor software glitches. Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the power button until you see the slider, then slide it to power off. After a few seconds, press and hold the power button again until the Apple logo appears.
  2. Check Date and Time Settings: Incorrect date and time settings can cause photos to appear out of order. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and ensure that the date and time are set correctly. You can also toggle on "Set Automatically" to ensure your iPhone updates its time automatically.
  3. Reset Photo Sorting Preferences: Open the Photos app, go to the "Albums" tab, and select "Recents." Tap "Select" in the upper-right corner, then tap "Customize" in the upper-left corner. Choose "Keep Sorted by Oldest First" or "Keep Sorted by Newest First" to reset the sorting order.
  4. Update iOS: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install any available updates. Sometimes, software updates include bug fixes that can address issues like this.
  5. Reset All Settings: If the problem persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This won't erase your data, but it will reset all settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
  6. Contact Apple Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a more complex problem with your device. Contact Apple Support for further assistance and troubleshooting tailored to your specific situation.
