Possible solution to delete a Mail account that just won't die

This isn't so much a question as it is a potential solution to a question that I've seen asked a few times in many older forum posts.

When I was still with my previous employer I was able to access my work email on both my personal MacBook Pro and Mac mini. After I left that employer I tried to delete the email account via both Mail and the Internet Accounts preferences but every time I did it I would get a notification 30 seconds (or so) later to say the account was added again! That would happen each time I tried it on either my MacBook Pro or the Mac mini, despite the dialog box saying the account would be deleted on all computers.

It turns out that I'd delete the account on one device and because it still existed on the other device it would sync up via iCloud and reinstate it! So I SIMULTANEOUSLY deleted the account (via Internet Accounts) on both devices and it worked! It's been several hours since I did this and it really does look like the zombie account is finally really dead :-).

Hopefully somebody finds that useful. It's been bugging me for 2 years now...

Mac mini, macOS 10.13
