Transferring Photos to Mac While Preserving a Specific Album on iPhone

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to transfer thousands of photos and videos from my iPhone to my Mac using the Photos app. However, I’d like to retain all the photos in my favorites folder on my iPhone without deleting them during the transfer process.

Is there a method to exclude the favorites folder (or any specific folder) from the transfer? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a strategy to temporarily secure the contents of the favorites folder elsewhere, transfer the remaining media to my Mac, and then restore the favorites folder to my iPhone with maintaining the order and the original metadata intact?
