New Windows iCloud app crashes shortly after connection

The new iCloud App was installed on my PC on 09.02.2024. The iCloud Drive and the iCloud photo synchronization was off. I tried to change the default folder for iCloud drive. The app crashed.

Since then, the process is the same:

  • After each connection to the app, with a correct username, password and MFA code, the app crashes after a couple of seconds.
  • I have tried to repair, reset and uninstal / reinstall the app, to no avail.

Any hint for a solution, or a method to restore the app's default parameters, would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance

However, the app is functioning well on another PC.

SOLVED

I have solved it by:

  1. deinstalling all Apple applications.
  2. Removing all Apple folders in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps
  3. Removing all Apple folders in C:\Users\[userName]\AppData
  4. Remobing all keys referencing AppleInc, iCloud or Apple(caution, do not erase "Applet" and similar keys in the registry. This page is helpful in order to authorise the deletion of some keys https://www.minitool.com/news/fix-error-while-deleting-key-2.html.

Now, I can connect to the app and set parameters.

Still, ICloudDrive cannot be enabled.
