No location found for my friends on my new iphone 15

I just transferred to my new iphone 15 from my old iphone 11. On the new phone I am not able to see anyone's location as I get a "no location found" error when i try to check. I could see their location on my old phone and the issue is not on any of their ends and seems to be a problem on my end or on apples. I am worried it might be an issue with how I transferred to the new phone but everything else is fine and wiped the old phone so I cant see how that would interfere. Need a solution to this issue.
