In order to run turbo tax 2023, I need to upgrade my MacBook Pro (late 2013) to Mac OS 12 or later. it is currently on 11.7.4. this is not showing as an option for me on software update. how can I do this?

I'm sorry, my friend, but the late-2013 MacBook Pro doesn't qualify to run any macOS version newer than Big Sur.
You might look into running Turbo Tax' online product if available.
