Why am I unable to connect my Nikon Z30 camera to my Macbook Pro and iMac

Talk to Nikon. Tell them what specific version of macOS you are using. Using the cables provided by Nikon with the camera, or brand-x?

Additionally, this camera, though not shown in camera RAW support (the Z50 is) for macOS Sonoma, does display those images in Finder, Quick Look, and Preview.

FYI: The HDMI port on the MacBook Pro is for sending video output to a monitor – not accepting video input from an external device like a Blu-Ray player or a digital camera. That's why using HDMI cables wouldn't work.

Hi! I am having the same issue and can't seem to figure it out!!

Did you figure this out? I have it connected with the USB cable and can't see the camera installed.

There is an HDMI output on the camera, I’m going to give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he/she understands that it needs to connect to a USB capture card to work in this fashion.
