Mac Mail randomly changing parts of text to earlier version

I've been seeing the same behavior on my Mac mail and Apple Mail of iOS. Mac OS 14.3. Mail v 16.0. iOS v 17.3 .. this is frustrating and makes email impossible because I don't always catch it when mail changes my text.

Same thing happening for me. First I thought there was something wrong with keyboard so I changed the keyboard but the same issue with text being randomly changed is happening again (only when composing new emails).

I noticed it happening about a month ago. So I had to write my email in text editor and then just paste the finished email.

They did an update to fix recently but the problem is still there. Now the mail overview section is also glitchy.

It's such a basic function of the computer I am really quite surprised there would be a problem like this.

I've observed this on the latest iPadOS Mail as well. On my systems, it appears that it might be a rendering issue—changing focus to another app or Mail window and then back to the Mail draft will restore the glitched lines. Is the affected text correct once sent?

Good news, I think Apple got the memo with macOS 14.3.1!

Yes, this is infuriating! I don't know if it is actually replacing the text or it is being rendered incorrectly. Either way, hoping for a quick fix!
