PowerPC application support in OS X ended with OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and the original Rosetta 1 PPC/Altvec instruction translator to X86. Rosetta 1, introduced in 2005, was phased out in 2011 with the introduction of OS X Lion.
The current Rosetta 2 technology is an X86-64 Intel instruction translator allowing some applications compiled for Intel platforms to run on Apple M1 - Mn architectures.
They did back in 2006.
