Siri song year search broken.

For years, Siri would tell me the year of the song that was playing on Apple Music simply by asking “Hey Siri, when did this song come out.” With recent iOS 17 updates, this functionality is broken. When asked the same question, Siri just gives you the name of the song along with the artist. How do you bring back the release year functionality?

Why does Siri play variations of a song that I didn’t ask for? When asking to play a song from the title or title and band name, Siri will play the live version, remastered (not always an issue) or an alternate version of the song without me asking for it. I don’t regularly play these versions when searching on my phone so I don’t think it’s making the suggestion based on listening history. It’s not like I don’t like alternate versions to songs; for example Soundgarden’s outtake version of Rusty Cage is my favourite; but I generally just want to listen to the original when not specifying anything more. I wouldn’t have thought this is something you can turn off but would appreciate it if anyone had any tips on the situation.

Siri is playing remixes on Apple Music, CarPlay since update to iOS 16.4 Siri responds to a request to play a song by playing the remix version. I've tried this on CarPlay as well as the phone directly. On CarPlay, saying "not this" or "not this version" doesn't do anything. On the phone, saying the same resulted in a web search for "not this"! I have an iPhone 13Pro and updated to iOS 16.4 this week.

Siri Music History stopped adding new songs Hi there, Since a year or so, Siri won't add my music searches anymore to the iTunes Store tab. I see all my search history via siri from 1 year and older, but nothing recent. Siri still searches the Titels when asked for, but unless I don't screenshot her answer, it won't appear anywhere else anymore. Anyone knows the reason or how I can fix it please? Regards, Olivier

This feature seems to come and go with different iOS releases. I wish they would bring it back.
