How to use credit from an apple gift card on Toca Boca

So I went to target and I got a 25 dollar apple gift card. When I got home I got on my iPad to redeem it so I could buy Toca boca stuff. I used the camera method and did a few other things to redeem it. The app said my account hade 25 dollars to spend so I went to Toca World. I went to buy some big family house but after I put in a year I only had one option to pay for it and request my parent to buy it. I don’t know how to spend the money on my account for Toca boca and it’s making me upset because I think I might have wasted 25 dollars. Does anyone know how to solve this? 🙁
