Hi, I cant seem to use my iMac now for work as it is 2013 and wont support MS365 as too old. I have a 2020 Macbook Air and wondered if I could use the iMac as an extension of this, so basically as a monitor. Is this functional or sensible? Thanks!

Although your iMac would work, it will not work with any 2019 or newer Mac model to be used as a display via Apple's Target Display Mode.

Apple used to have a Target Display Mode that would do this, but it is long gone. There are some software solutions, like LunaDisplay, but it is probably best to buy a monitor, if you need one.
Does anyone know the reason they removed this functionality? I would love this feature to be re-added.
