Apple Diagnostics returning NDK001 on Mac Air M2 13"

I was checking out the Apple Diagnostics Tool that is accessed from the system startup menu. About 50% of the time that I run it, I get a NDK001 error. It's not consistent but if I re-run the diagnostics 2-3 times I still get it.

I actually haven't noticed any problems with the system, including any keyboard or trackpad issues in the year that I have had the machine. I ensured that the diagnostics was run properly with no peripherals installed and the MagSafe power adapter connected.

Has anyone else had intermittent NDK001 errors on M2 Air?

If you are not having trouble with the Keyboard, I would not worry about. I'm sure you reviewed the code on the site you referenced showing a Keyboard error with the solution to have it serviced. If you are still under warranty it would be worth bringing it to Apple's attention to see if they have a solution, but personally without any problem I would not pay for a diagnostic/repair charge just based on the diagnostic code.

Maybe someone with a M2 Air will chime in to see if they also have the code running Apple Diagnostics.

I went ahead and spoke with support, and provided all the details. Much of the same, either bring it in for a scan or since it doesn't appear to be having issue, carry on. Since I am still under AppleCare, I will be taking it in this week for them to run their more advanced diagnostics. Honestly it feels more like a defect with the diagnostics bits than an actual hardware issue, but we will see.

I had the same issue in November 2023, I bought my Macbook Air M2 in Jan of 2023, I had this diagnostic, and because of school work i ignored it. Coming back to today (April 2024) my trackpad and keyboard is not working. and i do not have apple care.

I am imagining Apple store having a big party as they are gonna make some big bucks from me. I have no choice.

If you guys are also having this issue, and you have apple care, don't wait. Do me a favor, go to the apple store, show them the issue (click pictures), and if they cant fix it within a day, DEMAND a band new MacBook, and show them this thread.

P.S.

I love my apple Macbook Air M2.
