Can’t update ipad

I had to change my email for security reasons, I forgot the password for the email that doesent exist anymore. I cannot update my applepassword

on my iPad because the email is defunct and I can’t even change the password.

I cannot update the password on my email on my iPad. I had to change my email password due to receiving a message to say suspect activity had taken place. I did this in June on my iPhone. I have neglected to update the password on my iPad and now it seems that I cannot do it. To begin with it came up with a message to say password authentication was not available. Upon searching for solutions to this I found it best to delete the email account from my iPad turn it off and then add the account again. I tried this but it’s still not letting me verify the password. Please help

How do I change my password if I cannot access my email? How do I change a password if I have no ability to access an old email I no longer have access to?

I would sign into it with a new Apple ID and merge the files on the two.
