Bad gaming performance on iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have massive and frequent fps drops when playing games on 60fps, my screen hz is at 120.

On the other hand, playing games that support 120hz (120 fps) run extremely smoothly.

Even when I lower my refresh rate to 60hz, it is still extremely bad performance of fps, please help, I have iPhone 14 Pro Max and ios 17.2.1

If you encounter any challenges with third-party applications, the best course of action is to directly contact the app developer for further assistance. Here's a brief guide on how to do it:

  1. Identify the app developer.
  2. Visit their website or app store listing.
  3. Look for their contact information or support channels.
  4. Clearly describe the issue you are facing.
  5. Provide any necessary information they may need.
  6. Follow their instructions and provide feedback.
  7. Be patient and follow up if needed.

By reaching out to the app developer, you increase your chances of receiving accurate and personalized support for the challenges you're experiencing. To contact an App developer --> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

issue I am experiencing (along with a lot of other people) experiencing is widespread among both models 13/14 which have a 120hz refresh rate. The adaptive refresh rate overrides the user input of chosen maximum fps in 120fps compatible games and .. believe it or not it affects 60hz gaming as well, with the refresh rate stuttering to 30-40-45 fps at random times for a short amount. The issue is far more visible when playing games at 120fps in the games that allow it as the framerate dips are big, you lose 60 frames randomly and it stays at 60 fps for a bit leading to a stuttery mess. Tldr, the refresh rate lowers itself randomly overriding the one set by the fame dragging the maximum framerate with it down. I have high doubts about the people that say they don’t have it as I don’t think they have a reference point of how it’s supposed to look and feel normally as a baseline performance. I also have backup in what I’m saying as I tested a 14 Pro, I own a 14 Pro Max and have had questions regarding this behavior from others that purchased 14 pro/pro max phones. And no, it is not s cooling, lack of optimization on the game development side, unfortunately it is a widespread ios/display controller bug/or iphone related. Before you guys try to debunk this, I also have detailed evidence if this behavior happening with game developers that use unity to create games, and in an empty scene, that takes no processing power or involves no high performance processing, this still happens, the refresh rate still changes on its own, dragging the framerate down with it
