Homepod delay

Hi! I bought a new Homepod to use with my MacBook Pro m1, but when I plug it in I hear a delay of a few seconds which makes it impossible to use it when watching videos. How can I fix this?

Whst do you mean by when you plug it in? The HomePod needs to be left plugged on and ready to use. It should work but YouTube might have some lag
