Phone freezing when typing and odd auto corrections

For about a year now, since I updated my phone to iOS 16, my phone has been freezing while I’m typing. My whole screen will freeze, my keyboard will stop working, it just halts and takes about 30 seconds to unfreeze and show the words I typed out. I looked it up and it said it might be a storage issue so I cleared out my storage completely and it still does it. I got a new phone around 4 months ago (upgrading my 11 to a 14 pro max) hoping it would fix the problem and that it might just be my phone being 3 years old and a little damaged but the issue carried over to my new

phone. Since updating it as well I’ve noticed my auto correct does strange things, changing words spelled correctly to things that aren’t words at all, I’ll type something like no, and it changes it into letters with symbols not even available in the keyboard. I’m seriously considering changing the phone type I have and switching to android because the issues every time I update my phone have become so annoying and inconvenient.
