Hi, welcome to Apple Support Community.

Technically, since WhatsApp is not an Apple product, normally this isn't the best place to ask, but I'll answer your question anyway.

The WhatsApp data on your iPhone can be backed up through your iCloud backup. The following instructions are based on WhatsApp's support document.

Your data can be backed up if:

  • You're using the same phone number and iCloud account your iPhone backup was created on
  • Your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS (currently 17.2.1)
  • Your available storage on iCloud and your iPhone are at least 2.5 times bigger than your backup

To back up your data:

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the settings.
  2. Tap Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up Now.

You can also choose to automatically backup WhatsApp data to iCloud by going to Auto Backup in your app settings.

I hope this helps, and thank you for reaching out! Have a great day and a great 2024!
