CarPlay assumes control of my 2024 Toyota Audio any time I touch an iPhone app

Any time CarPlay is in use, it takes control of my 2024 Rav4's audio system. Example: I start the car and select FM radio for music. Then, a few seconds later, the audio switches to my iPhone even though nothing is playing on it. Another example: I pick up the phone while riding as a passenger and look at Facebook (or any other app that has the authority to use the Phone's microphone or speakers), and the car audio immediately switches to iPhone audio regardless of that app's audio status. This drives me nuts, and it is unsafe due to extreme distraction while attempting to regain my car's radio.

I have looked everywhere and found no setting to disable this audio priority.

THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZZARD and needs immediate correction.
