I go to settings on my watch. I scroll down and gestures isn’t there. I opened the general tab and it isn’t there either. Not sure what else to try. My watch is brand new. Just got it yesterday.

On Apple Watch app on my iPhone, the gestures tab only has an option of cover to mute. Nothing about double tap.

I have exactly the same problem. Brand new Apple Watch series 9 and I don't find the gestures on my watch. On my phone there is only the option to cover to turn off the watch, nothing about using the finger to take a call or similar. I have also turned on the AssistiveTouch in Accessibility, but no luck

Well it finally showed up. Don’t know if it was a software update or what. Just one day I noticed it was there🤷♂️
Go to the Watch app on your phone. You will see Gestures there and Double tap.
What watch model do you have? Double Tap is not an option for any watch below the 9 series and Ultra 2.
