Faulty screen MacBook Pro

Overnight, my MacBook screen stopped working normally. It displays normally, but when the lid is opened further than 90 degrees, the screen turns completely black. To get the screen to display normally again, I have to completely shut the lid and reopen it again (as long as it’s less than 90degrees angle).

i suspect it’s a faulty contact somewhere.

any idea how and where this faulty contact might be from? And how much would it cost to fix it? Could not find anything online sadly

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Your specific problem is you have a hardware issue: Display, Display assemble, Display cable fault.

No amount of software fixes, or on-line trouble shooting will resolve hardware.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
