iCloud Mail Rules 'Stuck' even after deleting

This is when using the iCloud website, which affects me Apple Mail app also.

I created rules to put mail in folders but it was marking them as read which I didn't want, so I deleted the rule expecting things to go back to normal, but the rules are still working, even though they are not there.

Remedial efforts....

Removed the folder it was putting the emails into (iCloud re-creates when a mail comes in)

Disabled and re-enabled the Alias the email rules were for

Signed out and in and out and in to iCloud Mail many times.

I want my emails reset, but there seems to be no way to do this. This is all happening server side.

Any help appreciated !
