Attempting to embrace Apple photos....Apple...can we really not "search" for photos in iCloud.com!!??!
Long time Apple iPhone owner...long time Google photos user. I have decided to move away from Google photos and embrace Apple photos. Spent days organizing and moving my 50GB of photos to my iCloud iPhotos account. Having some issues with people recognition across devices (that for a different post). For this post, I can't not believe that there is no "Search" when using iCloud Photos in my browser??! This seems like basic table stakes for any modern photo library. I see other posts from what looks like to be from Apple support, "you can use the Photos app on your Mac to search for people or other photos". Seems kind of a miss for Apple. What I am trying to do, and it's kind of related to my other issues, is I want to see if "people/faces" I have identified are consistent across devices. I would think that once I have all my photos synced in my iCloud space that the whole purpose of accessing/searching for those photos can be done in ANY of my Apple devices. My confidence level on this is VERY low. I see 300 photos of "Joe" on my iPhone, and I see 1287 photos of that same "Joe" on my Mac. And I can't even search for "Joe" on iCloud.com/photos.
It's tough using a product when there is low confidence of it working properly. Asking yourself, I wonder if this search result is accurate....maybe it did not find everything, or maybe I know there this photo out there of Joe, but I can't find it when using my iPhone...only my Mac!
