Old picture showing as most recent?

I opened my photos app, and the most recent picture is from just over a year ago. Previous ones are from yesterday, like normal. It’s just the one picture, and it was one of many taken on that day originally. It’s still on my iPhone, and it’s backed up into iCloud and google photos. There’s no way I accidentally downloaded it. Any idea what’s happening here?

Edit: Deleting the “recent” photo deletes it in the “all photos” (from November 2022.) Restoring it puts it back in place at November, and back at the most recent.

Whenever Photos needs to repair the library or upgrade the library to a new format, it might recover some older photos, that are no longer properly indexed in the library, perhaps they got lost during a crash or an external editor saved the photo incorrectly to the library. Such recovered items will then be added back to the library by Photos. As the "recents" album is sorted by the date a photo has been added to the library, the recovered items will appear as the most recent photos - the "date added" is not always the date the photo has been taken.
