Alert Tones as Ringtones (why can’t I do it anymore?)

I used to have the alert tone “chord” as my iPhone ringtone. But now, it only appears in the “alert tones” list and I can't find a way to set it as my ringtone. How do I get my ringtone back?? 😨

iPhone SE, iOS 17

omg, me too. I had my ringtone set as "chord" & I accidentally changed it to another tone. I tried changing it back but now I don't even see the option "chord" to be set as a ringtone. :(

For what ever reason some of the alert tones are no longer usable as ringtones (much like some ringtones are no longer usable as alerts). You can’t get any of those back as as option. Assuming you are on the latest iOS update you will still see some of the alert tones still usable as ringtones (Chimes is one that comes to mind that can still be used as both). Only Apple knows why this decision was made. All you can do as of now is submit feedback to Apple.
