Strange behaviour with Photos.app in Ventura 13.6.3

I'm facing a strange behaviour with Photos.app in Ventura 13.6.3. The Viewer is not working properly with image files (.jpg, .png, .heic, etc...), but it works fine with Videos and Portrait pictures. When attempting to open an image with the Viewer (opt + space bar), I only see a black screen, as shown in the screenshot below. This is quite frustrating. I tried to repair the library of Photos.app (When opening Photos.app, keep the opt + cmd keys pressed) but the issue persists. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What does the Info show for these images, when you click the (i) button in the toolbar? In the Info you can see the file format and the useful information.

The images may be screenshots - the tiny badge in the lower right corner is indicating, that Photos could detect some text in the image.

What has happened, before the problem first occurred? Have you moved the library to a different location or run any cleaning applications to remove duplicates?

Hello Léonie, thank you for your prompt response.

For instance, I imported an image from my iPhone to the Photos.app, and the information is displayed as shown in the screenshot below.

However, I am unable to view this particular image in the Viewer. As mentioned earlier, attempting to open the image results in only a black screen.

I recently updated the operating system and transferred the data (/Users/My User/Photo Library) from the Time Machine to the new OS.

While I am aware that this process might result in the loss of original copies, it doesn't seem to explain the issue with the new imports, as I demonstrated earlier.

Do you have any insights into what might be causing this?
