Apple Voice control works for a while then just stops transcribing speech

On my new M2 Air I can use Apple Voice Control for a while and then it just stops transcribing speech, although it still understands "start listening" and "stop listening" as evidenced by the icon showing on and off. If I turn off Apple Voice Control I can use dictation with the mic hotkey but can't use the extra features of Apple Voice Control like editing and other commands (plus the transcription isn't as good ). A complete restart restores the service but this is extremely impractical because it stops so frequently (within 15-45 minutes). Activity Monitor doesn't show anything unusual (afaik). My Sonoma has the latest updates. I would love it if anyone has any suggestions for how to fix. Thanks!

It seems like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with Apple Voice Control on your M2 MacBook Air. A few troubleshooting steps you can try include:

1. **Reset Voice Control:**

Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Voice Control, and try resetting Voice Control settings. This might help resolve any temporary glitches.

2. **Check Microphone Settings:**

Ensure that your microphone is properly configured and recognized by your system. Check System Preferences > Sound > Input to confirm the microphone is selected.

3. **Update Software:**

Make sure your macOS and all related software are up-to-date. Sometimes, issues can be resolved with the latest software updates.

4. **Accessibility Permissions:**

Confirm that Voice Control has the necessary accessibility permissions. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility, and ensure that Voice Control is checked.

5. **Check for Background Apps:**

Sometimes other applications may interfere with Voice Control. Check if there are any third-party applications running that might conflict with the voice recognition.

6. **Console Logs:**

If the issue persists, check the Console app for any error logs related to Voice Control. It might provide more specific information about what's going wrong.

If the problem continues, you might want to reach out to Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for further assistance, as it could be a more complex issue that requires specialized attention.
