Backup external HDs to Time Capsule

Hi

I have few external HDs and SSDs and want create backup not only my Mac but this HDs and SSDs too to Time Capsule. Can I do this? Pls help

Yes.....IF.....the external drive(s) are connected directly to your Mac.....AND.....each external drive is formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled), also known as HFS+ or APFS


Now things become a bit tricky.


Open Time Machine Preferences and click on Options. By default, the external drives are Excluded from Time Machine backups.....so....you have to click to highlight the drive that you want to back up and then click the "-" (minus) button at the bottom of the list to remove the drive from being Excluded from backups.


Now Time Machine will back up your Mac....and....the external(s) on the next pass.
