Blend Modes

Hi all,

I'm trying to blend the photo of the wildflowers with the image of the bear head to make it look as if the bears head is almost made of the wildflowers. I've been playing around with the blend modes a bit but can't get anything that looks too good, i was wondering if there are further steps after just selecting a blend mode that helps you refine the look? I'd like to make the bears head + wildflowers to retain the contours and depth of the bears head as when you look at it on its own. Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree trying to use blend modes? any help appreciated! thanks!
