How to change Command-Z in Safari to undo text etc, instead of opening the last tab?

For example in web app or spreadsheet, cmd-Z will not undo, but open the last closed tab.

I have been struggling with this for a while! Anyone know?

I figured it out! Put the exact menu name in, then change the shortcut key.

Instructions:

Apple Icon > System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard shortcuts > App shortcuts

  1. From here click "+" button
  2. Click "all applications" and type "Safari" and select it
  3. Menu title must be: Undo Close Tab (Must be exact with capitals as well)
  4. Keyboard shortcut: Anything you like, but I suggest Option Command Z (⌥⌘Z)
  5. Click Done: Fixed!

Now spreadsheets etc will work
