Files get deleted randomly on their own

This is probably the fourth time this has happened to me. Few documents in the Files app disappear on their own without any trace and explanation. They are not even in the recently deleted tab

This is very irritating especially when these documents are your notes and you really need them because exams are around.

Any way to recover these files or atleast to prevent something like this from happening in future.
