Can Not Authorize MacBook

1 - Open the Music app on your Mac.

2 - Look at the menu bar (very top of your screen )

3 - The menu bar will look like the following from my earlier post (i.e, Apple icon then Music then File etc.

4 - Click on "Account" in that menu bar.

5 - The click "Authorize This Computer" as shown in the screenshot above.

Similar problem, but I'm getting a message that this computer can't be authorized because I have more than five devices. but when I go to appleid it shows I have five devices - including this computer. I can't deauthorize and then reauthorize in iTunes because I get a message that this computer isn't authorized. How can I fix this?

How to authorize or deauthorize your Mac

1. Open the Apple Music app or Apple TV app. In the menu bar, choose Account and make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID.
2. Choose Account > Authorizations, then choose Authorize This Computer or Deauthorize This Computer.

4. Sign in with your Apple ID and password. Forgot your Apple ID?
5. Click Authorize or Deauthorize.

It is still accurate on mine running macOS 14.1.2.

My menu looks slightly different that the one on the screenshot in my previous post as I am not subscribed to Apple Music. I have fewer menu choices but "Authorizations" is on my Music app Account menu just below "Join Apple Music."

Can you provide more information than "no longer seems to be accurate"? What is inaccurate?

The first screenshot is what is displayed when you click: Music app > Account menu > "Account Settings."

Have you authorized that computer by clicking: Music app > Account menu > "Authorizations " > "Authorize This Computer"?

Note that "Authorizartions" is farther down the Account menu than "Account Settings."

No problem -- I didn't feel you were being difficult or disrespectful. It can be difficult to communicate clearly (in both directions) in a forum.
