Usb-c adapter to 3.5 jack not working for phone calls on iPhone 15 Pro Max?

I'm having the same exact issue. Audio like music or podcasts play through the adapter but the audio from a phone call does not. And there's no option to select "headphones" in the in-call menu.

I also want to use this system as it produces very high quality audio for phone calls that isn't a hassle to record (always inform parties on the other end if you are), which is a core function of my job as a reporter.

My issue is slightly different, although the same accessory. The USB-C to 3.5mm Audio Adapter with Power Supply.

My headphones work okay when plugged into my Car Auxiliary alone OR I can charge my phone. Attempting to do both prevents either and there is a small section at the top of the screen which blinks back and forth as if trying to resolve the issue and figure out what to do.

Also, the Sound and Haptics does not fix my issue.

Which 3.5mm to USB-C adapter(s) are you using?

Those settings doesn’t exist for me..
