iTunes Match "matching" wrong songs

I have had my iTunes/Apple Music library for at least 20 years, which is my music collection, and I also have Match. One issue I have had is that I have live versions of a song and it sometimes matches with the original studio version, and plays the live. I don't want this. Any suggestions on how to correct the wrong "match"?

I have Apple Music and iTunes Match. What happens if I turn off iTunes Match? I have Apple Music Family (actually Apple One Family). I also have iTunes Match. I have about 500 iTunes Match songs shown as Uploaded (in the iCloud Status column in iTunes). We are told (such as here https://www.imore.com/do-i-still-need-itunes-match-if-i-have-apple-music and iTunes Match included in Apple Music - Apple Community) that we don't need iTunes Match if we have Apple Music. What exactly does this mean? That first article is pretty vague. The second quotes a support page that no longer says the quoted text. What happens with these Uploaded songs when I cancel iTunes Match? Will they still be available on all my devices? Will I still be able to rip a new CD and upload unrecognized tracks and have them available on all my devices, exactly as with iTunes Match? What about songs that are recognized by iTunes Match and thus are not uploaded, but are not in Apple Music? The two libraries are pretty similar but not the same. I have a few songs that are not offered on Apple Music but are matched on iTunes Match. Will I still have access to those on all my devices if I cancel iTunes Match? Thanks.

itunes match I changed my iTunes Match subscription from one Apple ID to another. I now have songs that are "matched" in iTunes Match, but greyed out in Music so I cannot play or download the songs. I have tried signing in and out of my apple IDs both on my computer and in Music. I have updated the library. Any suggestions?

Hi Jim,

The problem is confusing and hard to explain. Ok, so it actually the reverse. Let's use the album Born to Run and I play the official studio release. I click on Thunder Road and it plays a live version instead. I then tried to delete the album from my library and redownload it. I have Apple Music too so I tried to add the latest lossless version and it shows its already in my library and links to other versions off the albums songs. This has happened with many other songs too. I play the studio version and it will play another file. I think the problem goes back to the original match. I want to clean up my library and if has been difficult to do. Thanks.

I am not following you here. Are songs that are live play the correct version but when you check it suggests that it is matched to the studio version?
