iPhone 15 Pro Max Battery Overheating Up

I recently bought a iPhone 15 Pro max with it being updated to the latest iOS 17.1.1. The battery settings is also set to 80% Limit.

Would like to check if anyone is getting an issue of the phone heating up, even though there I am:

1) Not using while charging

2) No background apps opened

3) Past the 2 weeks period of transferring data from old to new phone

Anyone else facing this issue? As battery’s frequent exposure to heat will significantly reduce battery life!

Hope Apple does something to fix this issue ASAP

Thanks!

Let’s define “overheating”. If an iPhone overheats it shuts down so it can’t be used, and displays a message saying it must cool down before it can be turned on, and it will probably be unusable for an hour or so. If you are seeing this it is a hardware problem and you should contact Apple support:

Note that both of the above have options to receive a callback or chat

If you are not seeing this your phone has not overheated. However, if you fast charge your phone may pause charging at 80% and display a message saying that charging has paused, and will resume when the phone cools down. This is NOT overheating, and is normal when fast charging. It also won’t prevent you from using any app you have on your phone.

Also, some apps that use a lot of energy or that use cellular data rather than Wi-Fi can cause the phone to run warmer.

iPhones have a fast charge feature; if you use a 20 watt or higher USC-C/PD (Power Delivery) power source (the kind that Apple, Anker, Griffin, and many other manufacturers offer) the phone will charge from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes, and to 80% in an additional 15 minutes (40 minutes total). So “fast charge” specifically means charging with a 20 watt power source and USB-C cable. Characteristics of a USB-C/PD include supplying 9 volts rather than 5 volts, at 2.2 amps.

My iPhone 15 pro max warm up quickly when I start using camera for video recording. It is definitely warmer than my other android phones. I don’t have a previous iCloud account so the overheating is not relevant to transferring data via iCloud. Have turned off location services on most apps except map, still have the same issue. Only have the phone for a few days, not really giving much hope this problem will go away on its own though. THB, it is quite disappointing for phone cost around $2000. Not sure if this common for a iPhone 15 pro max.
