WhatsApp is weird on iOS 17.1.1

Every time I enter a WhatsApp conversation on my new iPhone 15 Pro, the screen kinda freezes for an instant. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and I have even factory reseted my phone, but the issue persists. I'm wondering if it's an iOS 17 issue or something with my phone, as I'm considering returning it.
