Garageband MIDI input doubled-- Need troubleshooting help
I recently updated my mid 2017 macbook pro to Ventura, and upgraded to the newest version of Garageband.
In doing so, my midi controller (Yamaha DGX 660) which I have used without problem for years is no longer functioning properly.
When I play a note on the midi controller, a midi note is triggered on both the downstroke motion, and the note-release motion. I am no MIDI expert, but I know that when I release a note on the midi controller, the decay should begin; the opposite is happening.
Here's what I've tried so far, and here's what I know:
I know it is not a controller problem; when I run my "minigrand" workstation interface, notes are not doubled. When I run other DAW's like FL studio, notes are not doubled. When I connect my MIDI to my wife's computer, notes are not doubled.
All previous versions of garageband and mac os did not have this problem.
My Midi Input currently says "1 input detected," while no inputs are plugged in. When I plug in my midi controller, I see "2 inputs detected."
I've tried Hard resetting my computer. I've tried deleting garageband and reinstalling the app. I've tried new cords and wires. Nothing is working.
I'm panicked, because I use garageband and its midi function on a weekly basis. Choir director, who uses the platform to create choral tracks professionally. Any help is appreciated.
