Apple Hompod 2nd Gen stuck on spinning white lights. Unable to reset.

Hi. Recently I moved my HomePod from my office to home. I plugged it in and the white led is spinning non stop... for at least a day now. I tried to reset the HomePod by pressing down till the red spinning LEDs come on, but there is no prompt or countdown... and the HomePod won't reset.

I have this exact same issue and went to Apple this week.

Scenario:

Two Homepod minis with Version 17.1 went totally unresponsive at the same time.

I couldn't connect or manage them with Apple Home (Homekit) and I could not control them manually. Therefore even the reset with an iPhone or a manual reset on the Homepod itself was not possible.

Based on Apples Help Page, a Reset with a Macbook should be possible within the Finder, but nope.

Conclusion:

An Apple employee of the Genius Bar tried it's luck, but could only recreate the problem.

In an internal Knowledge Database he found out, that dispite the public info on the help page, a reset with a macbook is not possible.

He could only offer me to replace one of the Homepod minis under the terms of the legal warranty (here in Germany, idk which laws exists in other countries). But the other Homepod mini of mine is lost, because it is older than 2 years and will not be replace within the legal warranty.

He clearly said that he sees it as a failure of some kind but still couldn't help me. In some point I can understand that, on the other hand it is a pretty bad service if they analyze it as a problem of the product itself, but won't replace it.

It needs to be taken to an Apple Store or sent in if you can’t do that. Not sure how this works if you purchased it in another country, other than your own?

Is this the light you are seeing?

White spinning light

If a white light moves in a circle around the top of your HomePod or HomePod mini, then your HomePod speaker is turning on or updating software.

Keep your HomePod speaker plugged in while it's updating.

It will also do this when restarting (but eventually stop). It will do it when it’s waiting to be set up. Right after you plugged it in.

Did you have it set to update automatically? If so, you might have unplugged from your office while it was updating and now it’s stuck.

Not sure what to suggest. Like I said it needs taking to Apple.

Same for me. I have connected it (HomePod second gen) to power. Set it up, updated, (waited for update to finish) tested. All worked fine. Then unplugged it and moved to living room. Plugged. Only spinning white light.

Tried all official recommendations, chatted with apple support, nothing helps. Then tried all un-official recommendations. Reset procedures. (by the way reset procedure starts with red spinning light but if you keep your finger on it 8-10 minutes, eventually it turns to spinning white at the end)

It does not reset, it does not start. It becomes a very expensive night lamp from Apple. Also there is no Apple Store in my country. I got it from abroad. No solution at all from Apple.
