Home Kit and Matter

I've been running HomeKit for my lights, thermostats, and cameras for the past 3 years. While not exactly perfect, it works pretty well and I love the automation and scenes I can create.

A couple of weeks ago, I made the TERRIBLE mistake upgrading the Philips-Hue lights to use Matter on HomeKit and now NOTHING works. I have lost Adaptive Lighting, which is so critical since I live on a wooded lot. The lights do not turn on with the same color or brightness even though "last on" is selected on the Hue App. The automations and scenes also don't turn on or adjust the lights consistently with what is indicated in the automation or scene. Matter is absolute trash.

I would like to find a way to bypass Matter and reset up the home. While I'm not looking forward to setting up everything again it would be worth it not to deal with the gltichy-ness of Matter.

Anyone have any tips on how I can do this?

Unfortunately since you updated them to Matter, you won't be able to roll back (to my understanding unless you can return lights to factory defaults) to HomeKit. Matter works with Apple Home, but not HomeKit, which is why you lose Adaptive lighting. Now you may be able to set them via the Hue app to their version of it, which is what I have to do with my Nanoleaf bulbs, at least until or unless Apple decides to support Adaptive Lighting over Matter.
