I just updated from Ventura to Sonoma 14.1.1. I use Word 16.79.1. When editing many footnotes I normally open the doc in draft view and click footnotes, in order to be able to see all of the footnotes at once.
Now, I can open draft view fine. However, when I click on footnotes I see a blank screen with the word footnotes. (I have attached a screenshot). Ideas?

This worked for me:
Uninstall Word.
Do not load the version in the app store.

I have the same issue. Working on a peer reviewed journal that's on deadline. Microsoft 'help' was not helpful. Please Apple, please get them to fix this.

Thank you! I was nervous about uninstalling my current Word but finally did it and reinstalled this. It worked!!
Unfortunately that didn't work for me. Still stuck with the blank screen.
Nothing here worked for me. I did what elderodo did to get through this stress. Deleting and reinstalling does not help.

This appears to be a Microsoft, not Apple, problem. The latest version of Word, 16.82, brought the problem. The version of the download that folks offer here is 16.78.
I, too, received no help from MS and Apple, and I have reinstalled twice. I am also trying to finish a book. I am angry.
