Better options to transfer photos from iPhone to PC

I've been trying to move my pictures and videos off my phone for a while now and with no success. I tried the import feature in windows 11 photos app and file explorer import feature yet both led me to ether have a crash or half of the files were corrupted. I just want a easy way if there is any where i can plug my phone in and click a button and the photos will move to my computer and delete from my phone. Is there any 3rd party app that can do that which is free. It would be nice also to have it sync over the wifi kind of like icloud but to my own personal drive. (Yes i tried a different cable a different phone a different pc nothing worked and im stuck with full storage)

iPhone SE, iOS 17

I have icloud for windows but its only 5gb of storage and i have about 70gb of pictures/videos. It seems inefficient for me to use icloud to transfer that amount of data

Re iMazing as a paid product/service: I don’t work or endorse any — I’m just sharing that I own/use iMazing, for several years, and it’s worth the investment.

Technical development, subsequent product maintenance, further upgrades and enhancements are definitely not cost-free (!). I whole heartedly believe people should get compensated for the hard work of creating a product/service delivery done RIGHT.

I’d MUCH rather pay for something really good, than get something sketchy or “meh-y” for free. I prefer the business model of “consumer-as-client” revenue stream, vs “consumer-as-passive-participant-of-advertiser-as-client” revenue source.

That said, I have not done a deep dive into vetting the sketch-factor of iMazing (high or low), other than a basic skeleton search in online community forums & tech reviews. I didn’t find any outward red flags, but I am still curious would like to research more. I feel a little uneasy giving full access to everything within my iphone to a new 3rd party.

As a product, I’ve have been surprisingly delighted by iMazing’s user-friendly aesthetic of input & outputs, the thoughtful variables created allowing for (fairly) intuitive execution of more complex data demands, and the (mostly ) accurate display of results.

There are certainly still irksome glitches and cumbersome workarounds necessary to achieve some results that should be more straightforward/readily available.

It’s been on my “to do list” to report these to their customer service. If they aren’t getting feedback from users like myself, then maybe they are unaware of my pain points. I’ll withhold final judgement until I can provide the company with some product feedback, and then observe the message/meaning/method of their response’s effectiveness.

For now I am accepting the quirks as a ‘side effect’ of having robust, configurable, & scaleable functionality that exceeds the several others I’ve tried over the years.

In the meantime, I hope the company can stay viable, and will continues to improve upon their standout product.

if other legitimate contributors have other add-on alternatives to backup file management/manipulation/display (hacks within, or other enlisted external products, I am super interested in learning more about them.

Thank you!

Yes i tried those and it yields the same results. My pc recognizes my phone but my phone doesn't give the popup to allow video and pictures access. The times it does work half of the data is unreadable. I don't have any virus/security software besides windows defender. I have tons of free storage so that's not a issue also. iTunes does detect my phone and when i do a iTunes backup, it successful backs up my phone and then i used a program called iBackup Viewer and saw all my pictures and videos from the backup, however that program only lets you view for free not get the actual mov/png/heic files out of the backup folder for me to save onto a drive.

Also I'm trying to find a program like iMazing. I looked at it and it seems like a very good program and tried out the free version, worked flawlessly. Exactly what i wanted but the paid version is too much so is there a free alternative of iMazing that would replace me needing to go through the import process.

Yes as I said in my post I tried import feature in windows 11 and file explorer import.

the main problem is 80% of the time when I plug in my phone, it doesn’t show up the pop up to allow photo and video access and the other 20% of the time it does work and I start a import it ether crashes mid import or once it’s finished with the import, half of the pictures and videos are corrupted. I do have heic and heif extensions downloaded from the Microsoft store and I tried Vlc also to play the .mov files that wouldn’t play, nothing worked.

This is not a new thing. As a father of 5, I have spent many nights trying to free up space on the phone my wife or mine. It is a little ridiculous that we have to pay extra money in order to get a reliable and easy way to move media, which are just files, from one device to another. This is basic functionality.

Apple, please do your customers a favor and provide a better solution to an activity needed by so many.

You can just get the 1TB iPhone and a 2TB iCloud plan. iCloud syncs to Mac and PC effortlessly. Problem solved.

Yes, it's a "little ridiculous" to pay extra money, but this is Apple we're talking about. You know, the company that invented a recessed headphone jack on the 2007 iPhone so they could charge $30 for a little adapter if you wanted to use non-Apple headphones. Apple goes to great lengths to maintain a "walled garden" because vendor lock-in is how they make their money. There are probably other options out there, but as far as I know only Apple promises not to sell your personal information.
