iPhone 15 Pro Nax not charging past 80 with battery optimization

My iPhone 15 pro max stops charging after 80% despite me putting it in battery optimization mode. I also get no notification that battery optimization mode is on. After I wake up I need to unplug and replug the charger to make it charge again. In settings in the battery health is shows usage by app is not available when it is on 80%. please help
